Why of all the avian flocks,
Did chickens lose their fear of men?
Become instead no more than
Food and feathers to our kin ?
The smallest bird, whose nest
You touch will attack with vigor,
Their beaks and claws are keen
Weapons against anyone who dares
To come too close..
Should you find a land bird's nest,
That can be even more a danger,
For many of those birds are large and \
Profective of their young and nests.
But when and why did chickens
Lose their knowledge of the danger
That men can mean to them.
Their brains lose that skill
Become as dull as plants?
