Earth's Warning
Little men, little men,
With your quarreling, fighting, wars,
Your greed for my precious treasures,
Is setting up punishment for all men.
The earth has the final say,
With storms, earthquakes, floods,volcanoes.
Calm the people, calm the people,
You will need the finest, brightest minds,
To save mankind from absolute destruction.
Do not call on any god for protection,
Your only hope is in the brains you have,
The knowledge and the skills that you have gained,
So treasure them for the help you need,
If you do not, you will lose,
As did the earliest creatures of the earth.
No mountain top conversion will save you,
No pleas for sky borne aid,
Stop tearing at the mountain's flesh and blood,
Or they will shake you from their top.
The river will close o'er your prayer meeting,
If you cease not polluting them,
The poisons in the sky will wreak,
Havoc on plant and animal alike.\,
From factories, vehicles and coal.
Cease thinking you are mighty, indestructible,
For you are not, you are as weak as any,
Of the creatures that have passed from the earth,
Take warning from what is even now,
Happening every day on the earth.
For Those in Pain
Little man, little man,
Why do you weep? Why do you weep?
I have rothing, nothing left,
All is gone to feed the greedy maw,
For me and mine, naught is left,
But hunger and despair.
Fire, floods and earthquakes thunder,
Broken bonds of earth and sea,
Their only purpose easy plumder,
No concern for thee or me.
So I weep and you should, too,
Don't expect a thought from them,
They only think of what will serve,
Their interest and their ends.
Little enough do we ask,
Less than enough do they offer,
We ask no mansions, jets or yachts,
A living wage, clean air and water,
And for our youth a chance to learn,
A chance to earn that living wage.
We have no wish to be the master,
But servants also, we will not be. .
